Update to Instagram for Windows 10 Mobile includes support for Continuum
An update has been pushed out to the Instagram app for Windows 10 Mobile. The update takes the app to version 8.534.18899.0. While no official changelist has been published, it appears that video playback is now available inside the app. At the same time, users can mute these videos with a single tap on the screen.

The update also allows users to completely hide the navigation bar, and the app now works on Continuum although it will not rotate into landscape. Still, this could be a sign that Instagram will soon be available for Windows 10 PCs. Some of those who have loaded the update onto their Windows 10 Mobile flavored handset (like the Microsoft Lumia 950 or Microsoft Lumia 950 XL) say that Instagram now runs faster on their phones after installing the update.

If you haven't downloaded Instagram on your Windows 10 Mobile handset yet, you can do so now by clicking on the link below. At one time, Instagram was one of those extremely popular iOS and Android apps that wasn't available on Windows Phone, leading to what many called the 'App Gap." Third party developers have filled the gap in many cases, with some Windows Phone users swearing that the apps made by developers like Rudy Huyn provide a user experience just as good or better than the original app. In some cases, like Instagram, the original app is finally making its way to the platform.

People use Windows mobile? Also Phonearena it's sad that you won't let people comment if they have adblock enabled. I wouldn't have it turned on if it weren't for the thousand ads on your website that slow everything down. There is a reason I don't use this site from my phone!

I'm doing that just fine with Opera on my Surface Pro 2 + uBlock Origins extension...only ad I see is iPhonearena's butthurt, I'm happy with that, apple pays them enough already for their hypocrisy.

Funny that people are predicting doom for an OS which they've never used... Ever wondered why almost ALL WP Users are loyal to the platform? WP is a no nonsense OS... It's about productivity and experience and less about visual bling and childish colours (ala Touchwiz)... Not long ago, I tried a Huawei Y560 with Snapdragon 210 and 1GB RAM and it was LAGGY as HELL... Heck, even my Nexus 5 lags sometimes... On the contrary, I've yet to witness any noticeable lag on my Dual Core Lumia 430... It's as stable as iOS, if not any more... Its TOP NOTCH STABILITY (No auto restart in six months of ownership! Take that, Galaxy S7), MINIMALISM and SIMPLICITY is simply UNMATCHED! And it runs as smooth as iOS on humble Cortex A7, no need for a TWISTER or CRYO CORE...

If they used Windows Mobile for more than a cursory peek at a carrier store they'd know better. But what do you expect from these hairy-palmed kids? They've never had to sweat a day's pay so they know nothing about productivity.
