Update to Apple Store allows Siri to interact with the app
The Apple Store app has been updated to version 2.4. There are two new features that come with the update that are pretty big for iOS users. The first is the ability to buy gift cards directly from the app and then have them emailed to family and friends. Those using iOS 6 will be able to store the gift cards on Passbook. The early word on this new feature is that it is not working correctly and the cards are not being emailed. If any of our readers have been successful emailing a gift card purchase, or if you have had problems, let us know.

The second new feature includes the voice activated virtual personal assistant Siri. The new Apple Store update brings Siri integration to the app and allows the user to ask Siri to search for prices and shop for Apple products and accessories.  According to The Next Web, the Siri integration seems to work with the older version of the app. Regardless, both features are coming out at exactly the right time as the holiday shopping season is about to commence.

The updated version of the Apple Store app is now available for free from the Apple App Store.
