I thought about picked up the Xiaomi Redmi 2, but I don't like that I would have to ship it back to China for a warranty issue and it would be held my customs inbound. I found the Maxwest Android Astro 5 (Kit Kat) from Yippz.com This phone has a 5 inch screen, 1.3GHz quad core, 8.0 mp camera and is Dual SIM. It has a 1 Year US manufacturers warranty! I've had it for a couple of weeks now and I love it!

Just a warning for people in the USA. This phone doesn't have the correct 2G or LTE bands for use here.

Well I don't know about Redmi 2, but I have Redmi Note 4G FDD-LTE (china unicom version) and it works superbly with T-mobile in USA. It doesn't have LTE, but I am getting HSPA+ with 11 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up. It's heck of lot faster than DSL at home so I have no complaint at all. But remember, Redmi Note 4G works only in Tmobile Refarmed area which is most of the metropolitan area in US where T-mobile has 1900 mhz 3G network setup.

And that is why I posted my warning. According to the specs on the linked page the only US bands this phone has are: 2G: 1900 3G: 850 and 1900 LTE: None

Xiaomi Redmi 2 pro is certainly a great phone with few compromises if any, but now there is even more outstanding phone - Lenovo K3 Note, which pack super fast octa core processor, 2GB of ram, 13MP/5MP camera, 1080p 5.5 inch screen. This with SD card slot, removable battery and 16G built in storage. Quite unbelievable for around $160, just $18 more than Redmi 2 pro.
