UPDATED: HTC Desire goes to AT&T while Sprint gets Hero2?
This article has been updated.

A BGR tipster close to HTC has some interesting info about some high powered Android devices. First up, according to the source, Google wants to sell an AT&T 3G compatible Nexus One-like device through their web site, and as it seems they have picked the HTC Desire for the purpose. Besides being offered through Google, AT&T will also sell the phone on its shelves. It is said that the Desire for AT&T will have some differences in the design department, when compared to the unit we've seen for EU. The changes won't be major though and may include the casing color, material and finish. The carrier's customers will be glad to know that the Desire runs HTC's Sense UI. BGR says to expect the phone to launch in the May/June time period.

As for Sprint, a slightly modified version of the aluminum clad HTC Legend will make its way to the pin-dropping network as the Hero2 says the tipster. Just as the original Hero and Sprint's model have some differences, that is what we can expect from the Hero2. The source hadn't seen the phone yet and also had no idea of when the unit will be released.
