TiVo releases official Android app
Many people have been asking for it and TiVo have finally come through with an official app for Android, although there are a few caveats that come along with this app. It is good, but not perfect.

It has all the features that you would expect like viewing the TV schedule (up to 14 days into the future), record shows, managed recorded content, and search the TV schedule as well as Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, and Blockbuster. You can also get more info on shows, and comment and share info via Facebook and Twitter.

Although, as we said, there are a couple catches that you have to be aware of. First, although the app supports Android 2.1 and higher, it doesn't work on 10" tablets, just phones and 7" tablets. Some of the features are also only available to TiVo Premiere members, which of course costs you extra.

If that all sounds pretty good, you can grab the TiVo app for free in the Android Market

i got it this morning and it works really well. the remote feature itself only aligns correctly on phones with larger displays like my Mom's Droid Charge but looks a little off on phone's with smaller displays like my Droid 3 but i'm sure that'll be fixed in the future, this is just the Alpha release. the most useful feature is the universal search engine.
