This new HTC E9 is made for those who don't need Quad HD screens
HTC is getting ready to introduce another One E9 smartphone that's not as advanced as the One E9+ (which, as you may know, was announced in April). The new handset showed up today in China, where it's been approved by the country's Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center under the name of HTC E9st.

While it keeps the same screen size of the One E9+, the newer E9 doesn't offer a Quad HD (1440 x 2560) resolution, instead coming with a 720 x 1280 pixels one. This obviously means that the handset will be cheaper, though we don't have details about its exact price.

Just like its high-end brother, the One E9st runs Android Lollipop, and has dual front-facing speakers. Its processor is also an octa-core unit, but one clocked at 1.5 GHz, not at 2 GHz. Other than that, the new handset features a 13 MP rear camera, a 4 MP UltraPixel front-facing camera, 2 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of expandable internal memory.

The HTC E9st that we're seeing below is made for China Mobile, but this doesn't necessarily mean the smartphone is a China-only product.

Sorry guys but you're all missing an important point: not everyone have the same need that you have. This phone it's just a perfect replacement for may 2013 moto X. Screen size fits well in my hand. Camera sounds good. 720p it's pretty decent for email, social media, and reading news. Also, 720p means low screen power consumption. Enough RAM to run smoothly, expandable storage and I believe that a good battery and affordable price will make this a smart choice for people like me. I don't like HTC ui but I can always put a 3rd part launcher like dodol. If this device came to Brazil, someday, it will be my weapon of choice.

So we (so far) have the M9+, E9+, ME9 and E9, all within H1. So, what's next? HTC ME9+? They should have better names as well as not producing 3 flagship style phones in half an year.
