This is the Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch in real life
Last year's Samsung Gear S - the world's first smartwatch to sport a curved display - will soon get a successor called Gear S2. But, instead of having a curved screen, the new wearable device will offer a circular one, as Samsung realized that people actually like round smartwatches.

The Gear S2 will be officially announced in early September at IFA 2015. Until then, Dennis Miloseski, Vice President of Samsung Design America, is showing us what the new smartwatch looks like in real life via a photo posted on Instagram. As you can see below, the Gear S2 is quite elegant, resembling a traditional timepiece (all circular smartwatches do). Not long ago, Samsung released a Gear S2 teaser video, and some promo images (which you can also see below), but nothing compares to a real-life photo.

Like the Gear S, the Gear S2 runs Tizen OS, so if you're looking for an Android Wear experience you'll have to check out other smartwatches. The S2 might include a nano SIM card slot, which would allow users to connect to a cellular network. Other than that, little is known about the new device.

What do you think of the Samsung Gear S2 thus far?
