This HTC Aero concept tries to envision HTC's next Quad HD smartphone
HTC is reportedly working on a super-high-end smartphone that's expected to be launched sometime in October. Currently known as the HTC Aero, this could be the "hero" phone that HTC CEO Cher Wang talked about back in June.

According to recent rumors, the Aero will feature a Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) display of unknown size, and an advanced rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and support for RAW photography. Right now, that's all we know about the new handset, and yet someone already created an HTC Aero concept design, trying to envision what the device might look like.

Made by Hasan Kaymak, the concept presents an imaginary HTC Aero that's pretty thin, and doesn't have the massive BoomSound speakers that most of HTC's recent high-end smartphones come with. The back of the handset hasn't been rendered.

As you may know, the Aero would not be HTC's first Quad HD smartphone. The company already released the One M9+, One E9+, and One ME, all of which offer screens with 1440 x 2560 pixels. Most probably, Aero is just the codename of this upcoming HTC smartphone, so its final, official name should be different.

Looking at HTC's latest financial results, it's pretty obvious that the company does need a hero product, and it needs it as soon as possible.

Check out the HTC Aero concept below, and let us know if you'd want HTC to make a handset similar to it.

I would ditch my S6 Edge for it if it had the same design as the m9 initial renderings.

It's already confirmed it won't carry a QHD display.

Can't deny the impressive design. If only HTC is as smart as this concept artists, they wouldn't have a bad year.

Because this concept artist is not only talented at designing the outside of a smartphone, but also engineering its inside, mass-producing it at a competitive price, and marketing it to the entire world...

It can be made just like the iPhone, S6, LG G4, and the best Nexus and still not win over PhoneArena, CNet, consumer reports, etc.

Wish they'd made devices that looked like this cause This would look so awesome but given HTCs track record this won't be the tragedy they have planned to come out later this year.

Isn't this one of the same "leaked" renders of what the m9 should have been?

Can't really see much from those stupid angles.

HTC will never get away from their huge screen borders. What a shame! This phone could be a big seller with no huge borders.

I hope that it will have a design close to this one.

That design is almost similar to Nexus 6... Sadly, it won't happen...

Looks ugly as hell. M9 looks a ton better. Htc will never change their design just because of commenters trolling on the internet about how much they hate htc's design yet they won't buy an htc smartphone.

Htc would be very smart to be the first smartphone manufacturer to push the display completely from edge to edge and really design something different and special compared to the same ole stuff everyone is used to. In addition to an amazing QHD display it needs to be around 5.5" while the dimensions are no larger than the current M9. Processor needs to compete and perform as well as SD 820 or better. Camera wise they need to knock it out of the park nothing less will do. And battery life needs to be 3500mah minimum without compromising design. Htc you better do this right otherwise there may not be a next year for you!
