The unannounced HTC WF5w seems to be the thinnest HTC smartphone yet
While HTC isn't known for making the thinnest smartphones on the market, the company has several handsets that are under 8 mm thin. The latest is the One E9+, which, at 156.5 x 76.5 x 7.54 mm, is the Taiwanese company's slimmest smartphone to date. But it looks like this title won't be held for long by the One E9+.

Meet the HTC WF5w, an unannounced handset that showed up today in China, where it's been approved by the country's Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center. Weighing 152 grams and measuring 158.7 x 79.7 x 7.49 mm, the WF5w is a hair thinner than the One E9+.

The new smartphone runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, sports a 5.5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels, and seems to have dual front-facing speakers. Other features include an octa-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, 13 MP cameras on the front and back, 16 GB of storage space, and microSD card support (up to 128 GB).

The presence of TD-LTE connectivity suggests that the HTC WF5w is made for China Mobile. However, the handset might have an international version, too, and we assume that it's going to be included in the Desire series (WF5w is definitely not its commercial name). Take a look at the new HTC smartphone below, and let us know if you like what you're seeing.

I thik that this is a first of many smartphones from HTC who will look like that! This is just a test model,a first one,for the next year flagship! It will be bezelless and from my opinion next flagship gone be THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PHONE!! Just like now SAMSUNG S6 EDGE is the most beautifull phone!! But I still bought M9 because that is phone for me... Very GOOD JOB HTC!!

Just looking at the front of the phone reminds me of cheap chinese knockoff phones.

I don't really care about the bottom and top bezels since it really is of no consequence to me. I think they should have used black all around except for the logo. It draws too much attention and does nothing for the design. This is subjective of course since I prefer understated design in my phones.

HTC loves their logo. But why use a white palette for speaker grill, looks like two Samsung's home buttons?!!

That look's horrible, they could get better designs by just steeling the fan renders. Yet they pay people a lot of money to come up with this crap.

Ummm... So is nobody going to mention the new speaker design? It's not a big deal, but it does signal that HTC may start to experiment more in their designs. We can always hope, right?

HTC engineers are pretty bad eh? Can't even make a thin phone without it being huge in the other two measurements.

Agreed. Their engineering is pretty bad.

The iPhone 6 Plus is about the same zise though. Same display size, too.

Which isn't saying much since the 6 plus is too big as well and has a physical home button.

The physical button is used for navigation around iOS and houses the accurate Touch ID. Losing it is suicide.

huh, I thought this one is impressive design done by htc, with smaller bezer htc also managed to make it slimmer and symmetry while retain the dual speaker. m9 should be more like this!

Boring design ! Just thin. Nothing else. Looks like an ugly galaxy neo grand advance core plus active.
