Take a look at the Galaxy S8's... earphones

At this point, it would be easier to list the things that haven't leaked about the Galaxy S8/S8+ pair: um... the box, maybe? We'd normally add the bundled earphones to this list, except they also seem to have just made a public appearance.

As announced at Samsung's MWC conference, the earphones will be AKG-branded, as the company recently took ownership of the brand name as part of its acquisition of Harman International. The 'phones are, as expected, of the in-ear variety, with a slightly larger than usual outer body, which may or may not have a positive effect on sound quality, depending on how much AKG actually has to do with them. The cable, unlike previous Samsung headphones, is braided, which would hopefully help against tangling, but the microphone and volume controls are still present just like in previous models.

The images appear to be, as is customary, taken with a potato, though this is one of the few cases where we don't mind as much, as sound quality is much more important than looks. Though, admittedly, the headphones themselves look pretty okay, but we'll withhold further judgement until we can get our hands on a pair.

The driver looks decently big, around 12-13 mm I'd say. I would expect excellent quality for an IEM with that size driver, and hopefully decent components elsewhere.

Hoping for a hybrid driver with balanced armature transducer so that we can enjoy both highs and low bass at the same time.

AKGs are usually excellent. This should be no less.

I think the whole world has seen the phone in real except me. *Meanwhile Samsung thinking it'll blow everyone's mind because we have kept it a secret*

Samsung cannot even come up with their own branded earbuds. Pathetic.

You've got to be kidding, right? Apple does it...but does it excel in sound quality? No. I'd rather have headphones of different make if it offers better audio...besides, it's a flagship we're talking about.

Exactly and yet they could have with both the iPhone 6S' and 7's. Cheap as Apple still selling cheap phones with cheap headphones. I think Beats headphones are of better quality than the iPhone anyways and that's saying a lot. Apple woudlnt want to potentially enclose a better product in the same box with the product they are selling...lol.

You mean the product they own? They bought Harmon Kardon stupid idiot! So what if they aren't branded Samsung. Do they need to be? Owning a company doesn't mean all yoru products have the same branding. Example...Toyota owns Lexus. Is Lexus called a Toyota? What about Honda owning Acura? Guess what GM owns Cadillac, Chevy and many others. Yet they are not branded GM. They have their own names and GM has its own brand called GMC. You are a moron and you're stupid. Why dont you just shutup! You are an annoying fart-faced coward. Please off yourself.

Has APpel branded the Beat Headphones as Apple headphones? Or are they still being sold as Beat Latest Beats X on Apple's own website are not branded as Apple headphoneshttp://www.apple.com/shop/product/MLYF2LL/A/beatsx-earphones-white?fnode=b06ba7aad2c7c8285cc696e3dd9d743a710455977167a5d76d89c53a843263d067aebc94d5af2892e766d1994de638751aa039612651f9d27ce0ef9fdbbecaf4da03f6e9954c0f9b7f85ddaffbb3862a08b92767a1bed5d864c1e0c9cfcd78d5 So I am curious as to why you've not said that of Apple? At least anything I say about Apple good or bad, I can say about any company. But your hatred is obvious you POS troll!

Samsung, the "first" OEM to move from selling or enclosing crappy $6.00 headphones in a box with a $600+ smartphone. I am aware HTC did use the urBeats branded headphones with the original HTC One series. Everyone has a different concept on what is premium or garbage and especially when it comes to Beats. So I would say HTC was the "first" OEM to try not to enclose $6.00 headphones with their phones. The urBeats are surely better than what Samsung or Apple and other usually enclose in the box. Now that Smasung owns an audio company, it is nic ethat the very first phone they make after acquisition is of "premium" quality. This I hope sets a trend. This is something Apple should have done years ago. Apple should or could have paid Sony in the past to make Apple their own brand headphones of much better quality. Apple now own Beats and could have included with both the iPhone 6S' or 7's, with better quality headphones in the box, and simply could have added $50 to the cost of the phone to pay for them if need be. Shows you how lazy Apple is and notgiving nothing for the cost. Thank you Samsung. Samsung who gives away VR headsets, 128 and 256GB SDcards and wireless chargers and more when you purchase their phones makes the price of the Galaxy way more than fair and is why many of us stick with Samsung. Other OEM's need to do this. Sony who makes their own phones, shove cheap ass headphones in the box. That's lame!

Oh shut up about Sony. I got the €70 NC31EM with digital noice cancellation with my Z2 and the €160 MDR-XB950BT with the XZ (this was a promotion action though).
