There is a new breed of apps that strive to make your night out clubbing just as smooth and easy as downing those vodka cocktails once you are in. One of these, Tablelist, has attracted plenty of attention (and venture funding) lately, as it is essentially your go-to place for last minute table bookings at the hottest clubs, lounges, restaurants and other vebues in the hottest nightlife markets like NYC or Las Vegas.
Tablelist lets you reserve VIP tables there from your phone, without clashing with the whims of snotty doormen and beating huge red carpet crowds. The booking can be for two or twenty people, and is placed on a supplied credit card, with a minimum order amount that can range from $500 to ten thousand, depending on the place and event.
Once you've claimed your VIP table, the local concierge for the app, who is a living, breathing person, takes over with the arrival and entry organization, tips and suggestions for everyone involved. There is of course a profile and ranking system for both places and people, and the app ges down to the minutiae, like pre-visit check splitting, for instance. Check it out if you are curious what the future of clubbing might look like, whether you like the "VIP table" trend or not.
