Earlier this month, when Sony announced the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact, it also introduced a less advanced handset, namely the Xperia E3. As it turns out, the E3 is the first among the three new smartphones to become available.

Starting this week, the Xperia E3 can be bought in India. The single SIM version of the handset costs about $196 (11,990 INR), while the dual SIM one is priced at about $200.

Running Android 4.4 KitKat, the Sony Xperia E3 sports a 4.5-inch IPS display with 480 x 854 pixels and a pretty low 218 ppi density. Other features include LTE connectivity, 5 MP rear camera with LED flash, VGA front-facing camera, quad-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of internal memory, and microSD card support. The new handset weighs 144 grams, measures 137.1 x 69.4 x 8.5 mm, and includes a 2330 mAh battery.

While the Xperia E3 will likely not be released in the US, it’s going to be launched in Europe in the near future. For example, it’s expected to be available in the UK starting September 29, via Amazon (for £149.99).
