Sony: Xperia Z4 tablet is more than just a consumption device, showcases Bluetooth keyboard in new video

Sony marches on with the Xperia line, beautifully built, nicely appointed, and among the nicer Android powered devices on the market. Nowhere is this more evident than with Sony’s Xperia tablets.

From the Xperia Tablet Z, released in 2013, to the Xperia Z2 Tablet a year later, and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact late last year, all of Sony’s slates have earned high marks in our reviews. Based on the look we got to take of the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet at MWC 2015 a couple weeks ago, Sony has not messed with the formula too much, and that is a good thing.

The new Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet, it is a bit lighter, a bit leaner, and still built to resist dust and water. That is a nice accomplishment considering that its predecessor was not overly fat considering the build materials involved. Now, Sony fans have an even sharper 2560x1600 resolution 10.1-inch screen to look forward to and enjoy.

Given Sony’s other lines of business, media consumption and entertainment is a no-brainer for the Xperia Z4 Tablet. However, Sony wants everyone to know this more than just a play-thing. Paired with its Bluetooth keyboard, the Xperia Z4 Tablet puts the Android app ecosystem to good use, including all the productivity apps we use every day.

The Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet is available for pre-order in parts of Europe, and is expected to land on shelves this summer.

So you've already tried this and discarded it? Obviously Android does not replace a full-fledged windows laptop, but for 90% of usage out of 90% of the consumers outthere this might actually work pretty good... I got the first Motorola Atrix because its Webtop and "Notebook" capabilities caught my attention (also the fingerprint scanner), and even when the execution was actually very bad, the idea inspired others such as ASUS PadFone. After that, I kept using my android devices to their fullest (as far as consumtion goes, I am not a programmer) and even when my 4 y/o laptop is still very capable (i7, 8GB RAM, SSD) my phone is used for almost everything that my laptop can do... and even more. The only use I give to my laptop that my phone is not able to do, is for 3D model designs, and even then Autodesk's FormIt let me do some sketches on the go... but the main work I do is with SolidWorks and Adobe CS. On the other hand, a phone (or tablet for that matter) gives you most capabilities of: - Office Suite (WPS is the best IMO) - Internet Browsing - Sketchs with proper apps - Navigation - Camera - Multimedia My phone is constantly being used mirrored to TV, I also use USB OTG almost daily (and it even support my external 1.5 TB HDD), and being an Xperia Z3 Compact with its magnetic port I don't even have to stop charging to plug a USB OTG cable or MHL cable... so in a way it is even better than the new Mac

I can't write articles for my blog using Android or iOS properly. The Web experience falls short of windows.

Yeah, an early i7 and a low capacity SSD, but it still holds pretty good. I like to buy my laptops as powerful as I can do they can last me many years... My previous one was a Toshiba that gave me 6 years of good use, after that I gave it to my dadand it still works for him

The z4t looks very good but i hate that they dropped the magnetic port. Micro usb is a pain as it can scratch you device trying to put it in. So you'll have to be carefull every time you use the charger.
