Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet launched in the UK

Sony’s Xperia Z2 Tablet is now available to buy in the UK, which appears to be one of the first markets to get the new tablet.

Only the Wi-Fi version of the Xperia Z2 Tablet is in stock at the moment. Sony UK is asking $658 (£399) for the 16GB model, and $740 (£449) for the 32GB one. The Xperia Z2 Tablet 16GB with LTE can be pre-ordered for $823 (£499).

Like the Xperia Z2 smartphone (which should be released pretty soon as well), the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet is waterproof, runs Android 4.4 KitKat, and comes with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3GHz. Other features include a 10.1-inch 1080p display, stereo speakers with 3D surround sound, 2.2MP front-facing camera, 8MP rear camera, 3GB of RAM, and a 6,000 mAh battery. The new tablet is only 6.4mm-thin.

Sony will launch the Xperia Z2 Tablet in the US, too, but we don’t know exactly when that’s going to happen.
