Sony Xperia X Performance price revealed, pre-orders now live in Europe

Sony Xperia X Performance price revealed, pre-orders now live in Europe
Sony Europe this week started taking pre-orders for the Xperia X Performance, its latest high-end smartphone, which was first unveiled in February at MWC 2016. Sony is now also officially accepting pre-orders for the Xperia X and Xperia XA - both announced at the same time with the X Performance - though we must mention that these two handsets were already available to pre-order via Amazon UK (since last week).

At the moment, the Xperia X Performance can be pre-ordered in the following countries: France, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden. The smartphone costs €699 unlocked (we assume this means that it'll cost $699 in the US), and comes in four color variants: black, white, lime gold, and rose gold. It looks like the Xperia X Performance won't start shipping before early July, despite the fact that the Xperia X and Xperia XA are going to be released in late May - early June.

The Sony Xperia X Performance is similar to the Xperia X in many aspects, but it's more powerful, as it features a top of the line Snapdragon 820 processor (while the Xperia X has a Snapdragon 650 inside). For more details on the new Sony Xperia lineup, go check out our Xperia X Performance, Xperia X, and Xperia XA hands-on.

All three new Xperia handsets show up as "coming soon" over at Sony Mobile's US website. However, we don't know if they're going to be released stateside at the same time as in Europe. We'll keep you posted!

After seeing HTC 10 and its middling battery life, I'll wait for this or the regular X, or for an A9 successor/Moto phone with the SD625

It's a flagship phone from a premium band with the latest processor. Do you expect they will priced like a Chinese phone maker? Even HTC 10 is priced at 700 euros.

Yes, but releasing it in July is a joke. The S7 will be cheaper then.

You forgot to mention that it comes with last years camera sensor, 2 years old display panel with 4 years old resolution, in a 3 years old design with a minor tweaking. I am sorry, but you must be living in denial if you truely believe that it offers the same specs and features as the 10 and S7.

Unfortunately die-hard Sony fanboys will tell you that all what you've mentioned is a gimmick or an overkill!! Don't get me wrong Sony is my favourite brand but they've seriously lost the plot as of late!!

It's still Sony's best sensor, and the camera has been improved according to early reviews. The same reviews have also mentioned that the screen has been improved as well on the X and the X performance. And 1080p is better on a 5" display than 1440p. It's a nice little upgrade over the Z5, which still holds up well against the S7: (take a look at the images, they're both doing a great job).

Your sony mobile fanboism is disgusting. Sony in insulting consumers ever since z3 came out. They deserve to exist the mobile smartphone manufacturing with the way they behave in terms of smartphone development and marketing. I almost want them to fail. It is disgusting. Sony is good against sony, againt competition they are inferior overall. It is very easy to see but you make it sound as if they are still relevant. Right now they are not.

Oh, yes. Please tell us more great maherk how did you know Sony is using two years old panel for their XP? Did Sony tell you or Did Samsung PR department tell you? Or you reached this idiotic conclusion simply because the resolution is same? Then why didn't you tell us that Samsung is also using the same old 2 years old display ( note 4, but this time with smaller screen same as XP) with 3 years old resolution ( vivo Xplay 3S ) Samsung S7 is also 4 years old design with minor tweaking { different material {with glass} just like XP (with metal)}. But I guess blind asskisser like you can't see it. I didn't see you complaining HTC 10 using last year camera sensor, 2016 nexus used the same sensor. But you are making it a big deal because Sony is using it. I'm not sorry to tell you that you are a biased moron. And don't bother giving me link of your HTC phone to prove your unbiasedness.

That's it, LOL. That's the best you can. Ha ha ha. That's the best reply you can come up with. Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. But also within my estimation consideration how much of biased moron you are. And also ironic considering your post shows how much my post hurt you.

599 euro while 649 USD would be more normal, they could have priced the premium 749 USD that way, guess the new Xperia is gonna fail miserably again, they are also too late to the game, by the time we get X performance in the states, we would already have the option to buy the "new" iPhone or galaxy note 6, maybe even something better

They are releasing it at the wrong time. There is nothing special about it they should've brought more attention to the features. Put in a much better dac and/or screen.

I'd get an s7 edge over this...but the design language and software optimization Sony has claimed...its a beautiful thing.

Snapdragon 820 processor and 1080p resolution makes this phone a total beast. Well done Sony for the smart decision.

Agree with you there, but not on the pricing of the X. It's too expensive for what it offers.
