Sony Xperia E4 gets a price and estimated release date (in the UK)
Officially announced by Sony earlier this week, the Xperia E4 is the company's newest MediaTek-powered smartphone. While Sony didn't reveal its price, we now know that the E4 will be quite affordable. British retailer Clove is asking £99.99 (about $154, or €135) for an unlocked Xperia E4, saying that it's expecting to have it in stock in late March. In other markets, the new handset should be available starting this month, most likely for a similar price. Meanwhile, you can enter this contest and try to win an E4 for free.

Sporting a 5-inch display with 560 x 940 pixels, the Xperia E4 will run Android KitKat at launch, but Sony should update it to Lollipop at some point. One of the handset's highlight features is its 2300 mAh battery that can provide a usage time of up to 2 days. Other than that, the smartphone comes with a 5 MP rear camera, 2 MP front-facing camera, 1 GB of RAM, and 8 GB of expandable internal memory.

The Xperia E4 is very compact for a 5-inch device (for the sake of comparison, the iPhone 6, which sports a 4.7-inch display, is 1 mm taller than the E4, though Sony's handset is thicker and wider). The new Xperia will be available in two color versions: black and white. Any takers?
