Sony Xperia C4 is being updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow
The Sony Xperia C4, a smartphone released over a year ago, is now getting its official Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. At the moment, the update seems to be live only for these following Xperia C4 and Xperia C4 Dual models: E5303, E5306, E5333, and E5343. Other two models - E5353 and E5363 - will probably get the update in the near future.

It looks like Marshmallow is the last major update that the Xperia C4 is receiving, as Sony hasn't included the phone on its list of devices that will get Android 7.0 Nougat. Nevertheless, Xperia C4 owners will certainly appreciate having Marshmallow on their phone instead of Lollipop, as the former brings important features like Doze (for longer battery life), enhanced app permissions, and Google Now on Tap.

Right now, Sony isn't selling new Xperia C4 units in the US, but you can still find the handset, pre-owned, at Best Buy, which is offering it for $169.99 unlocked.

Well at least it's better than some Samsung phones never seeing an update.

Not just Samsung. Some Sony, HTC, LG etc. low-end devices never see an update. At least no major updates. Xiaomi do a nice job, updating most of their phones (if not completely).

yeah, all 2yo xiaomi's get the last MIUI version.. but they only share version number, older device getting new MIUI based on lollipop (but still better than most manufacturer)

I don't understand all the Samsung hate for updates, they're quite decent with it.

They are terrific with the monthly security updates.

Samsung should have copyrighted "C4" before Sony.

I was thinking the same thing... This Xperia has an unfortunate name. Imagine going through security checkpoints and someone asks you what phone is that...
