Sony Ericsson's PlayStation Phone may get announced in December
French tech media have received an invitation from Sony Ericsson (in French, of course) inviting them to a press event on December 9th at 8PM at which time Sony Ericsson will present "the most anticipated presentation of the last ten years". Considering that the bottom of the invitation features symbols from a PlayStation controller along with a phone icon, it would seem that the odds are that the announcement has to do with the introduction of the Sony Ericsson PlayStation Phone.

Recently, we reported that the Joint Venture's CEO, Bert Nordberg, had hinted that the device would first surface at the MWC show this February in Barcelona. But this invitation could mean that we get to see this much anticipated model meet the public much earlier than expected.

We have seen pictures of what appears to be a prototype of the device and the word is that instead of waiting for a dual-core processor, which would have pushed back a launch, the joint venture has decided to go with the same second-genearation 1GHz Snapdragon chip (MSM8655) seen on the T-Mobile myTouch 4G and HTC Desire HD. And while there remains a thin possibility that the Sony Ericsson PlayStation Phone could launch with Android 2.3 aboard, the Google Nexus S is expected to have the honor of being first to market with the OS which would mean that Sony Ericssons unit should rollout with Android 2.2 aboard.

For hard core gamers, the Sony Ericsson PlayStation Phone is like a dream come true and an announcement on December 9th leaves a bit more than 2 weeks to leave enough hints and clues promoting the idea that this is what you want under the tree this Xmas.

I promise Sony that this will not be a good idea. It's essentially a PSPgo which everyone hates already but with a phone feature.

This is not a PSP, is it not? so it mostly can not play regular PSP games. And my point is WHY do i want this.?.If i m a "Hardcore Gamer". I am not hating or bashing. I am a fan of SE. I do like to see what the final piece going to be like. Is just, Is just that the design LOOK Fail to me. Maybe the PSPgo just so much fail and they both looks similar.
