Shot on iPhone 6: Apple picks awesome user-recorded videos to show what the camera is capable of
The iPhone is the world's most popular camera. This is hardly news - the switch from cameras to phones as our most used devices to capture the moment in a photograph happened a few years ago, and Flickr was one of the first to break the news.

The iPhone in particular has been one of the preferred phones for image capture, as it's known to shoot good-looking images quickly and in a reliable manner in all sorts of conditions. This consistency and reliability also applies to video, and Apple has now picked some neat user-recorded videos and featured them on to show what the handset's camera is really capable of.

The creations have a nice and catchy soundtrack, but they are not perfect by any means, and it's obvious that they are indeed shot on the phone in real-world conditions rather than being artificially sweetened. Naturally, those are not some long movie experiments - we're speaking about a few short videos of less than half a minute. Check them out right below.

Nothing comes close to the slow-mo of iPhone 6. Note 4 is good, S6 is average and G4 is utter s**t in slow-mo videos. And despite all the power and 4k recording, they can't pull off 240 fps.

Doesn't iPhone downscale resolution video in slow mo ?

7. TyrionLannister unregistered

iPhone 5s does that. iPhone 6 has true 720p. I have an S6 and it has average slow-mo at best. Worse than Note 4. It looks like upscaled 480p. G4's one is even worse, which looks like 360p or 240p. S6 excels at usual 1080p/4k videos with excellent sound as well as video. But for slow-mo, it's surprisingly bad.

Slow mo is just gimmick... At least to me. If Samsung used this as their unique selling point it would be a "Gimmick"

Slow-Mo is very useful and therefore not a gimmick. A gimmick is something that is made to look cool.

"A gimmick is something that is made to look cool." Like Slow-Mo?

Depends on who's using it. For a normal guy like me it is kinda a gimmick, but for the active people out there like athletes, dancers etc. it is quite useful

then why does my S6 slow mo, looks the same or better than those shown above? or do i need new glasses?

I have an S6 too. It records great videos as long as they are not slow-mo, but it does surprisingly poor with slow-mo, even compared to note 4.

You also need to record outside, on a mid to bright day for it to look nice. Sony makes the lens, others just want the 16MP/20MP/4K capabilities instead for some reason. Sharp have just put a 210 FPS camera into their phone, with the 2,100 FPS screen. It's all based on what the OEM wants from Sony really :p

yet, their flagship camera quality is something to laugh at.

Laugh? Sales yes. Bet u never held or owned a Sony. They are top tier. I must say S6 is better in specs and camera, but u can't laugh at Sony. Especially not the best compact phone (Z3c/Z3c)

never held or owned a sony? yeah don't make me laugh again... what makes me laugh about sony is they make the best camera sensors, and still don't know how to properly optimize it in their phones. If you dont agree with that, then fanboy detected.

Funny thing is that the media twist reviews and test unfairly... I have done my research and personal testing and comparisons and the Z3 Compact is AT LEAST on par with the other flagships from that time... including the iPhone 6 PLUS... Go to the comparison table at DigitalVersus, or go and see Camera Compare tools at GSMArena... or just take both devices for a spin and try... And keep in mind that you have far more modes and abilities with the Xperia, Galaxy, LG and others than what Apple offers in Auto, even if their Auto mode is fantastic.

congrat iFans... you have the 8th best smartphone camera in the industry lol.... simple mere same 8 megapixel camera since the iphone 5, same dual core garbage processor with 1 GB of RAM ONLY!!! why do you people like getting milked with 2011 hardware? and keep. buying. the. same product over and over wasting .hard earned money. then apple has balls. to give you 16gb base storage model, while the S6 start at $599, is cheaper, faster, better screen, has better stronger metal that. wont. bend in pocket, better camera, MUCH MCUH better front camera (they been using same front camera on iphone since iphone 4 what a joke) -cant. shoot 4k video -cant even take 16:9 photo natively -poor 8 megapixel detail vs competition. -image proceesing. that overblows alot of detail and change its color the fact that people sticking with iPhone for so long is sad, tim cook is literally milking everyone, why buy iPhone which yes. capable device and all but if i am buying something similiar price, i expect it to be similar, but it not, the note 4, galaxy s6, even my old note 3 and note 2 destroy current iphone, it isnt even funny. such joke seriously.

Why do you need 240FPS? If the other OEM's wanted their phoens to have that, the cameras they possess support it. It si useless. All I hear you saying is look, our 4 year old outdate camera shots videos at 240FPS better than the other phones. I have a better one, my 5MP camera on the S6 Edge shots better photos than both of the cameras on the iPhone and I don't need slow-mo. I personally don't take a lot of photos with my phone. What I do know is, there has never been a time I thought - Man I wished I'd shot that in slow-mo.

2, 5 and 7 are freaking amazing!

Totally agree! They are all awesome videos, but 2, 5, & 7 were amazing! That seagull was surprisingly majestic. I live by a beach area right on the edge of a city, and we f*cking hate seagulls here haha, but this one was pleasant to watch =) Awesome footage. Love shooting videos with Slo Mo on the iPhone 6!
