Samsung Galaxy Tab E officially announced

Samsung Galaxy Tab E officially announced
Samsung today officially unveiled the Galaxy Tab E (model number SM-T560), a brand new Android tablet that doesn't cost too much, but doesn't offer advanced features, either.

Announced in Taiwan, the Galaxy Tab E is 8.5mm-thin, weighs 490 grams, and sports a 9.6-inch TFT display with 800 x 1280 pixels. The new slate is powered by a quad-core 1.3 GHz processor - possibly a Spreadtrum SC7730SE, though Samsung didn't confirm this.

Apparently running Android KitKat (instead of Lollipop), the Tab E comes pre-installed with Microsoft Office apps. It further offers a 2 MP front-facing camera, a 5 MP rear camera, 1.5 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage space, and microSD card support. The tablet has a 5000 mAh battery, which, given the rest of the features, should provide a decent usage time.

The Tab E SM-T560 is a Wi-Fi-only device, but Samsung should also introduce a Galaxy Tab E SM-T561 with 3G connectivity. The Wi-Fi-only model costs around $225 in Taiwan, where it should be released before the end of this month.

We assume that the Galaxy Tab E will be launched by Samsung in other markets, but for now there's no info about this. Take a look at the slate below, and let us know if you think it's worth ~$225.

Trust me you're absolutely wrong. I own the Note 2014 edition and I think it's probably the worst tablet in existence. (The only reason I still use it is because it has a monopoly on stylus input). Samsung tablets look good on paper but are absolute s**te in day to day use

you also right.. my parent has Note 10.1 2014 edition, it's expensive and terrible.. fortunately, I'm not the one who's using it.. I only test it for a while, when she bought it.. my parent has no complain about it, but I have regret for recommend it to her xD for me, Nexus 7 is still the best :p

i have no problem with them coming out with tablets like this, but they should prce it accordingly. 225 is dumb and no-one should buy this.

Samsung think that the customers are stupid... Samsung rocks in high end devices but sucks miserably in midrange and low end devices... Chinese are the best in midrange and low end catagory

Craptacular! I don't know why Samsung keeps releasing these crummily spec'd, low-end tablets. 9.6" 800x1280 gives you a PPI of 157.23. That's pathetic. This isn't 2009, nor is this a $50 no-brand tablet you bought from China on eBay. I'd love to get my grubby mitts on a Tab S 8.4 though...

It's like slightly better than the Galaxy Tab A. Samsung make some strange decisions.
