Samsung Galaxy S9 official promo video leaks out

When it rains, it pours, at least that's what the state of the Galaxy S9 looks like right now, a day before the official announcement.

What has just leaked out is the full promo video for the Galaxy S9 detailing all of its features. And it's nobody but Samsung's own fault as somebody slipped and published the video ahead of time.

And all of the rumors seem to be true: the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will look very, very similar to the S8 series, while the main difference between them will be a new camera with a variable aperture and a bump in processor and performance. The bigger S9+ will also have a secondary telephoto lens similar to the one on the Galaxy Note 8.

The video goes over the most important features of the S9 and S9 Plus, but interestingly enough it also pays a lot of attention to the new Samsung DeX dock that allows you to connect the S9 series to an external monitor and have a desktop like experience. Additionally, the video also makes it clear that the S9 is a great phone for enterprises with advanced security features.

Interestingly enough, there is little focus on the actual consumer experience and things like the camera, which makes us think that Samsung might actually have a few promo videos out there to show us at its Galaxy Unpacked 2018 event tomorrow. This is the first one that lifts the cover off the S9 series wide open. Tomorrow, we'll learn what else there is to it.

It looks like there is more software enhancements with the S9 than there are actual hardware improvements. What’s sad is that you pretty much have to buy a new Galaxy S phone if you want the latest software considering it takes months or years to get it otherwise (unless you root your phone).

Enhancements that should've been available initially at S8. They got to pull an apple in order to sell more.

The sad fact is Samsung has become Apple. Sad, because the S1 through the S5 were the best phones in the world. Durable, Removable battery, reasonably priced, etc. Now, Samsung is just a scumbag company, just like Apple,

I have a Galaxy S7 now. I also hate that they never update the phone after release. I mean, it was more than almost a whole week since I got the latest firmware update on it! ALMOST A WEEK!!! :)

But they will say we are saving the big hardware changes for the S10 like Apple did.

For some reason, I wasn't that impressed. I personally learned over the years that I don't want to juggle two softwares in a phone with Samsung, lg, etc. It's pixel or iPhone only from here on out.

Just my opinion but I think Samsung have dropped the ball here. Not enough innovation in the phone and some (significantly) cheaper handsets will catch up to the s9 in this annual round. I'm personally struggling to justify spending $1k+ on this versus a few hundred on say a Nokia 7 plus (Android One also so latest software faster) Samsung software updates are way too slow and with some exciting things on this horizon from Google I don't want to be stuck on 8.0 Just my thoughts...

I just can't feel the hype! What I saw was an S8 with more bezel and geared more towards business users.

It's just a commercial for Enterprise customers. Not for ordinary customers.

This is only the business version 'leak'. Looks that Samsung is advancing marketing intelligence with A/B test to streamline the official announcement based on initial reaction. Also, ideas for the Note9 as business commercial will also feedback business expectations. Apple marketing gets more chalengers. I hope the real customer feedback/expectations will be price, battery & durability. Enough of iSheepisation. We need to demand what matters to most of us.

People are being salty but the S8 was pretty much an S7 with a bigger screen so this phone seems like a better update than the S8
