Samsung Galaxy S6 and S7's stock email app affected by typing issues

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S7's stock email app affected by typing issues

For whatever reasons, it seems that Samsung's Keyboard application has some issues when used inside the stock email app on some Galaxy S smartphones. These issues started to appear only recently, so it's unclear whether it's because of an OS update that Samsung or it's just something related to the app.

Reports of Samsung Galaxy S6/S7, and their edge counterparts, having typing issues increased in the last couple of days. The issues only affect the stock email application, so you're safe if you're using Gmail or another email app to check your messages.

The issues have been thoroughly described by some users, but we have been able to replicate it on our Samsung S6 handsets. Here is what's happening for some users when they're trying to type in the stock email app.

On top of that, double click period and capitalization functions are not working anymore. Some say that the issue only affects the Samsung Keyboard, so if you switch to Google Keyboard or SwiftKey, you should be ok.

If that's accurate, then the issue lies within Samsung Keyboard app and has nothing to do with the stock email app. We're waiting to see if Samsung squashes the bugs before these issues become widespread. Have you been affected by these typing problems yet?

I also have a problem with Samsungs keyboard, it really makes typing a problem - although its happening on every app. nothing to complain about though since changing to something else is easy.

mine is doing the same thing in email messages every place I have tried it seems to be with punctuation it replaces the next letters you type with more of the same punctuation mark unless you "accept" the punctuation mark with enter or tapping on it in the list of suggestions then it adds a space after kinda annoying going to try changing keyboards maybe its just an issue with samsungs keyboard

I randomly had this issue back when I had a S6, but it never happened again after the Marshmallow update.

I have no idea about their stock email app, I use K9 email, but their keyboard isn't good. SwiftKey goes on my phone immediately after setup.

I can confirm this is being caused by android system Webview update. uninstall the update and all OK

This happens for any rendered pages that are displayed in a WebView control. Even typing into the Google search field. If you load google.com in a WebView control, and then type "3.1415" you will get "3..415". If you type "what?no way!" you will get "what??o way!"
