Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus gets updated to Android Lollipop

Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus gets updated to Android Lollipop
The Galaxy S5 Plus was released in October in select markets, coming as a slightly improved variant of Samsung's (now ex-flagship) Galaxy S5. If you have an S5 Plus, we're happy to inform you that Samsung has started rolling out an official Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the handset.

According to Sam Mobile, the update (which brings Android 5.0.2 to the S5 Plus) is now available to users in Nordic countries, and can be downloaded via Samsung Kies.

As you may know, the difference between the regular Galaxy S5 and the S5 Plus is that the latter features a Snapdragon 805 processor instead of the older Snapdragon 801 of the former, while also supporting faster LTE data transfers. Other than that, the two devices are pretty much identical.

Another Samsung Galaxy S5 variant, namely the S5 mini, should get its Android 5.0 Lollipop update starting next quarter. Back to the Galaxy S5 Plus, are there owners of it around here? If yes, have you got your Lollipop update yet?

I got the Lollipop update on my Note 4 for more than a month now. You can always download the update from sammobile.com, your warranty won't be void and you won't lose your data.

I also own a Note 4 (Indian version). I will wait for the official OTA update for my phone but I am curious if the lollipop update also brings with it the Touchwiz themes feature as I don't like the white background in every stock app. Thanks

No it won't. But when it is is production, it'll likely be the hands down best just like the Note 4 is now.

The price won't drop because of the Note 5. That's like saying the price of the 3 Series BMW will drop because of the new 5 Series. S6 prices are gonna drop next year when the S7 comes out.

No, prices always drop dynamically here in the Netherlands, that's because it's very pricey already. Phone companies know they already make mad profits. Especially when other companies bring phones in at the same level, they drop prices slightly so that people are appealed to it instead of the new phones
