New Samsung Galaxy Buds images reveal charging case, specs details
It's true that these aren't the first Samsung Galaxy Buds we've seen in the wild, but they're definitely the clearest. The earphones are expected to be unveiled on February 20 alongside the Galaxy S10, and word is that the Galaxy Buds will be offered for free to customers who pre-order Samsung's new flagships in some regions.

The new pictures obtained by SamMobile show the charging case and the full design of the Galaxy Buds. The images are accompanied by some details regarding the earphones' technical specifications such as the fact that they come with a smaller 58mAh battery than the IconX (2018) earphones that have a much larger 82mAh battery.

The same goes for the charging case, which features a 252mAh battery. On the bright side, the case features wireless charging support. Also, the Galaxy Buds feature IPx2 water resistance, Bluetooth 5.0 support, and 8GB storage.

Obviously, we expect the Galaxy Buds will go on sale around the same time the Galaxy S10 hits the market, but no information about pricing is available for the moment. Even so, there's a high chance that Samsung's earphones won't be priced below $200.

How about Samsung gets rid of the on board storage, and all the inaccurate activity sensors, and in their space, put in bigger drivers and give us a much better audio quality? The old ones aren't bad by any means, but they're definitely lacking a lot in terms of sound quality when compared to Jabra and Bose's offerings.

I own both Bose SoundSport and Samsung IconX (2018). Bose sound quality is definitely better than Samsung's but IMO, SoundSport is just too bulky for true wireless earbuds. I also find myself rocking the IconX more often when I'm outside, due to its compact size. I thought about getting the upcoming Galaxy buds and even hoped Samsung would improve its sound quality from last year's model(which wasn't bad to begin with) but I will have second thoughts if they come with a smaller battery than the IconX(2018). They sure do look smaller & sleeker than 2018 IconX but I wouldn't want to comprise the battery life for smaller size buds. IMO, 2018 IconX is already small enough. I'll wait for reviews to come out before I decide.

I won't argue that, because you do have a point about the compact size of the iconX, but wouldn't you want a more audio oriented earbuds over one that does more things but on an average level?

I would absolutely want a more audio oriented earbuds for sure but I(maybe unlike most people) only wear em when I'm outside so the compactness does matters to me more, as long as they don't sound bad. When I'm home, I(again, unlike most people) use a high-end over-the-ear wired headphones at night times(I use a Marshall bluetooth speaker during the day) to listen to music. I hope Sammy has done their homework this year and let's hope AKG tuning improves the sound quality as well. BTW, I love the on board storage on my IconX. I love the fact that I don't have to pair em to my phone. Pairing it does drain my phone battery faster, based on my experiences.

I'm sure they'll be overpriced & if their sound quality is subpar that's what return policies are for.

Did samsung change their designer or something? most of their upcoming products look much sleeker than their previous iterations (imo).

Waiting to see battery life & microphone noise cancellation. If they include these in pre order for S10, that's a good move!
