Samsung announced its
Galaxy Alpha just a couple of days ago, saying that the handset would be available to buy starting the first half of September. It looks like Vodafone will be offering a little gift bundled with the new smartphone - at least in Germany.
According to Caschys Blog, all Vodafone Germany stores will offer free
Gear Fit wearables to Galaxy Alpha buyers, while supplies last. That’s a nice deal, though the suggested retail price of the Alpha in Germany isn’t too attractive: €649 - higher than the price of an unlocked Galaxy S5 (around €530).
The Alpha is not your regular Galaxy, as Samsung used metal to manufacture its frame, side rim, and home key. The handset’s thinness (6.7 mm) contributes to its premium look. Feature-wise, the Galaxy Alpha offers a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 720 x 1280 pixels, LTE Cat. 6, fingerprint scanner, a 12 MP rear camera, octa-core Exynos 5430 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal memory, and a 1860 mAh battery. The new smartphone has five color versions: Charcoal Black, Dazzling White, Sleek Silver, Scuba Blue, and Frosted Gold.
Apart from being released in Europe next month, the Galaxy Alpha should also be available in the US - though we don’t have official details on this yet.
