Samsung Galaxy Alpha launches in Canada this month, official price revealed
While the Samsung Galaxy Alpha will be available to buy starting September 12 in some countries, most markets have to wait a bit longer to get the new handset (and some won’t get it at all). If you’re in Canada, you may be happy to know that the Alpha will be released there starting September 26.
Samsung Canada today officially confirmed that the Galaxy Alpha is going to be launched on that day via Bell and Virgin Mobile, saying that other Canadian carriers will have the handset in the future, too. Bell is already accepting pre-orders for the new smartphone, which costs 149.95 Canadian dollars ($137 US dollars) on contract, or 699.95 CAD ($638 US Dollars) without any agreement.
At only 6.7 mm, the Alpha is Samsung’s thinnest Galaxy smartphone ever. The handset offers a premium construction (with a metal frame around its edges), and pretty nice specs, including a 4.7-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels, 12 MP rear camera, fingerprint scanner, octa-core Exynos 5 5430 processor, 2 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of internal memory. Some US carriers could also offer the Galaxy Alpha pretty soon. We heard that AT&T and T-Mobile may be getting ready to sell the smartphone, though nothing’s official at this point.
