RIM updates new Facebook app to fix bugs
Earlier this week, RIM released a new Facebook app for certain BlackBerry devices. The build number was 1.5.0.31, but once the program was downloaded onto the phone, out came the gremlins. The calendar that comes with the app thought it was the alpha software and became the default one without asking your permission (the nerve of some software code!) You can fix the calendar issue by going to Options > Advanced Options > Default Services > Reset Calendar after you have installed the update. The other problem repaired in this update is for those who manually link your contacts between your BlackBerry pals and your friends on Facebook. The software will now ask you if you would like to send an email to your friends asking for their phone number. Before the fix was provided, the program arranged for your phone to spam your friends without asking you. To get to the new update, on your BlackBerry browser head to http://www.blackberry.com/facebook. Once you get everything straightened out, give us a shout about the new Facebook app and let us know what improvements you like or dislike, and what changes still need to be made.
