Pokemon Go: New Pokemon and special edition Pikachu available today

As anticipated, today, December 12, Niantic announced the availability of new Pokemon for Pokemon Go. Beginning today, players will be able to discover Togepi, Pichu, and "several other" yet to be revealed Pokemon that you may know from the classic Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver video games.

These new Pokemon will only be hatching from Eggs, so you can't catch them in the wild. In case you're somewhat disappointed by today's announcement, Niantic says that, over the next few months, more Pokemon will be added to its popular mobile game.

In addition to hatching new Pokemon, trainers now have the chance to find limited edition Pikachu all over the world, but only until December 29. The special Pikachu are wearing festive hats to celebrate the holiday season.

If you're a Pokemon Go player, let us know how you feel about today's updates, will you?

Pichu isnt "special edition Pikachu" it's baby form of pikachu (later can evolve to pikachu) and have it's own number on pokedex

I would be okay with this but have been reading reports that they only spawn in 5k eggs which doesn't make sense. They should only be from 2k eggs since they're pre-evolutions and no word on Tyrogue. I would be more excited if they made 10k eggs more readily available instead.
