The Phoozy Thermal Capsule for smartphones offers protection from overheating or freezing

Usually, if you want to keep your smartphone damage-free, you go and buy one of the many protective cases that are flooding the market. But what if you need more than just protection against drops or water? Meet the Phoozy Thermal Capsule, a new accessory that can protect your handset from excessive heat and excessive cold.

Made by a US company called eXclaim IP, Phoozy may look like a shiny pouch, but it's more than that. With a multi-layer design inspired by spacesuit technology, the Phoozy Thermal Capsule features a Chromium exterior that "reflects more than 90% of the solar radiation generated by the sun", plus three inner layers that are impact-resistant, keeping your phone (screen included) safe.

Reportedly, the Phoozy case is cold-proof down to -20 °F (-28 °C), while also being "sun and heat proof" - though no numbers are given in this case. Furthermore, this unusual pouch floats on water, so your phone will remain at the surface in case you're dropping it.

According to its maker, the Phoozy capsule should help your phone preserve battery life when it's too hot, or too cold outside, as extreme temperatures can negatively impact battery performance.

Phoozy costs $29.99, comes with 1-year warranty, and can be purchased from eXclaim IP's official website - see the source link below. The capsule is compatible with most smartphones, from the small iPhone SE to the large iPhone 7 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S8+, or Google Pixel XL. Let us know if you're tempted to try this thing, will you?
