Panasonic revives the Eluga brand with a new Android smartphone for India
While being busy manufacturing and advertising ultra-rugged Windows-powered mobile devices, Panasonic also has the time to sell Android smartphones. The company’s been offering affordable Android handsets in India lately, and now it’s getting ready to announce a new device there. Unlike the previous handsets made for the Indian market, the new one will be from the Eluga series, which gave us a few large-screened smartphones back in 2012.

For now, Panasonic doesn’t provide too many details about its new Eluga smartphone, only saying that it’s “designed for the new generation.” However, we assume that the handset is the Panasonic Eluga U, which, according to GFXBench, runs Android 4.4 KitKat. The Eluga U is also supposed to feature a 5-inch display with 720 x 1,280 pixels, a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 2GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera, and a 2MP front-facing camera.

The new Eluga smartphone will be announced by Panasonic India “soon,” so it shouldn't be long until we find out more about it.
