Palm Pre 2 for Verizon spotted on Best Buy's inventory system
Waiting for the Palm Pre 2 to finally make an appearance at Verizon? Well, we have some good news and bad news about the first webOS 2 powered device. The good news is that the model has showed up on Best Buy's inventory system with a price of $499.99.

Now before you start singing "Don't Stop Believing", here is the bad news. The system shows zero units in inventory and zero units en-route. Now, we have to say that while we are heartened by the inclusion of the Pre 2 in the Big Box retailer's inventory system (because it does represent some forward progress toward the launch of the phone),we would prefer to see some inventory in stock, or at least sitting in the back of a truck heading for the stores.

While it has been coming up on 3 months since the model was introduced, there have been credible reports that local Verizon stores have had to return demo and store models that they received. And while Palm has been saying that the Pre 2 is coming soon, every time it appeared in Big Red's systems, it would quickly disappear. Now that we just reported that Case-Mate has produced a whole line of cases for a Verizon branded Apple iPhone 4, the reason for this delay could become more in focus.
