OnePlus One gets 'Clear image' camera feature in latest CyanogenMod 11S update
With the latest CyanogenMod 11S update, OnePlus introduced a new camera mode. Called "Clear image", it stitches together 10 individual photos of the same scene into one higher-quality photo.

Sound familiar? The "HD Camera" mode found in the Oppo Find 7 and Find 7a has similar idea, but it pulls out 50MP interpolated photos. In contrast, the OnePlus' "Clear image" keeps the original 13MP resolution and file size, but improves the details by greatly reducing the noise level.

Check out the official samples in the gallery below. The first three photos depict 100% zoomed-in crops of photos taken with the OnePlus One in 'Auto' and 'Clear Image' mode, while the next three photos are full-sized images in both modes.

OnePlus One owners shall be bestowed with the 'Clear image' functionality in the ongoing CyanogenMod 11S over-the-air update (30O).

I can see this being a great update for the 4 people total that own OnePlus Ones. :)

I think the "Fast HDR" of other phones are doing the same thing if not better... But we must test to see, and very nice update for a midrange priced phone !

Without the Clear Image mode those photos look pretty awful! Really impressive mode nonetheless...I hope other manufacturers catch on with this software trick~

How about getting a 'clear production and shipping plan' first?

"Hype First" is the marketing motto of this company unfortunately.

I had a guy want to trade his oneplus one for my z2. There seems to be an issue with AT&T LTE and you can get it to work but is a hassle to do so. I want to try it but would rather just buy it from him

Cool! Can't wait to try this out when my phone gets here! I'll see what's better, the OPO, my Galaxy S4 Active (8MP) or HTC One m7 (4MP). Next time I'm at my dad's I can compare it to his HTC One m8 and my step mom's Nexus 5, that'll be a better comparison I think.

The camera One M8 is much better than that of the One M7 as it focuses faster and takes overall sharper images. Just don't expect to do much cropping compared to the other phones though.

If anyone has a OnePlus One and gets this update I'd like to know how this works in the field. Specifically does it shoot fast enough to use this as the primary shooting mode or is this a special landscape type of mode. Also I'd like to understand if its useful for shooting kids that are constantly in motion.
