Official Sony video showcases new Android Marshmallow features for Xperia phones
Sony this month started rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates to its Xperia Z5 series, Xperia Z3+, and Xperia Z4 Tablet (all of which were released last year with Android Lollipop on board). For Xperia owners who have yet to receive the update, Sony today posted a video that showcases some of the new features that Marshmallow is bringing (including Sony-exclusive stuff).

The video - embedded below - shows us an Xperia Z5 which, following the update to Marshmallow, gained the ability to grant permissions to individual apps, plus enhanced sharing capabilities, and seamless text editing. Also showcased are an improved camera UI, and the new sticker packs that are included in the Xperia Messaging app. Other novelties are only briefly mentioned - Doze mode (for improved battery life), Now on Tap, new home screen, the ability to swipe to search apps, new voice assist, and so on.

Besides the Xperia devices that are now being updated to Android Marshmallow, the following models should also get the new version of the OS at some point: Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia M5, Xperia C5 Ultra, Xperia M4 Aqua, Xperia C4, Xperia Z4 Tablet Compact, and Xperia Z2 Tablet.

Have you gotten a taste of Marshmallow on your Xperia yet?
