October 4th event to be held on Apple's own campus?
On October 4th, as we reported, Apple is expected to introduce to the world the next-generation of its Apple iPhone. According to sources for All Things D, the event will be held at the company's campus in Cupertino. But what will Apple reveal? There have been a number of different possibilities discussed.

Will it be the Apple iPhone 5 with a completely new design and improved specs? Some believe such a model will feature a dual-core processor, 8MP camera, larger edge-to-edge screen and a home button that reads gestures. Others speculate that Apple will keep the design of the Apple iPhone 4 but upgrade the innards and call it the Apple iPhone 4S. And there are those who claim "inside-resources" in calling for Apple to show off both an Apple iPhone 5 with updated specs AND an Apple iPhone 4S, with the latter being a lower-cost entry-level model.

Of course, Apple has a new CEO in Tim Cook and the combination of new leadership and a home-field venue could bring a whole new fresh feeling to the event. Add in the fact that no one really has an idea what Apple is going to introduce when it comes to its touchscreen smartphone and the atmosphere is bound to be electric in Cupertino a week from Tuesday. And don't forget the speculated next-gen Apple iPod touch expected to be introduced. Like a smaller version of the Apple iPad, the new iPod Touch will have 3G connectivity provided by carriers for data, not for phone calls.

So which Apple iPhone(s) will be introduced at the event? Let us know what you think by leaving us your comments in the box below.
