New WhatsApp version lets you star messages, here's how to install it
WhatsApp is out with a new beta version of its chat software for Android, and, unlike the last update that mainly ironed bugs, this time it comes with a variety of new features that bring it closer to richer and more capable chat apps.

First off, to the grand news - with the fresh 2.12.338 beta, you will be able to finally star messages, and view them later on, which would be a godsend for those who are struggling to find something in their incoherent conversation threads. The way you highlight a message for later preview is to long-press on it, and then click on the star that appears above. The highlights will then appear in a dedicated Starred messages section to marvel at.

Next in line is document support and search for PDFs. DOCs and so on, as you can see in the screenshots below, and there are some other smaller novelties that are yet to be discovered, judging by the increase in the APK installation size, and the 380 files in it that have been modified. If you want to test drive the new WhatsApp 2.12.338 version for Android, hit the download link below, and install it on your device - as usual, bear in mind that this is still a beta that hasn't arrived at the Play Store, so there might still be some kinks left in it.

Thanks for the tip, Joe!

I have it per se, but it doesn't work. When I try to accept my account to do the online backup, it will keep asking me it, and just never work. It's like two questions it ask me. I think the 1st is what Google Drive account to save it to, then the 2nd one is to accept the backup, but it never works. At least that's in the version before this one because I haven't upgraded mine yet.

It's Google Drive, and no, you're not the only one.
