New Sony Xperias up for pre-order at Amazon UK; Xperia XZ costs equivalent to $800

_
Sony has just unveiled its new Xperia XZ and Xperia X Compact smartphones at IFA in Berlin, and already, consumers based in the UK can secure themselves a unit courtesy of Amazon. In addition, Twitter leakster @Ricciolo1 suggests that pre-orders in Europe for both devices will commence from 12th September, with the X Compact to retail on the 24th. He also adds that the Xperia XZ won't actually begin shipping in Europe until 17th October, which is around seven weeks from now. The Sony Xperia X Compact is up for £379.99 ($500) on Amazon UK in Mist Blue, Universe Black and also White. The listing says the handset will drop in four weeks' time on the 28th. Likewise, the Sony Xperia XZ is up for pre-order in a choice of Forest Blue, Mineral Black or Platinum for a cool £599.99 ($800). No time frame is given on the release, however, and if Ricciolo's Twitter musings are to be heeded, UK customers might also be waiting until the second half of October to retrieve their purchase:
#xperiaxcompact available 09/24 449 eur ! :) #XperiaXZ 10/17 699 eur (pre order starts 09/12) ;)

Though Amazon's release date for the Xperia X Compact can be deemed trustworthy — as can its prices of both handsets — we'll have to wait for something more concrete with regards to the European and global roll-outs. Even though we've done the quick currency conversions from British Pounds to dollars, this doesn't necessarily mean the devices will launch at those prices. It is likely, however, that they won't be too far off.
Based on what you've seen, do you think the X Compact and ZX are worth $500 and $800 respectively? Let us know what you think in the comments.
