New Sony Xperias up for pre-order at Amazon UK; Xperia XZ costs equivalent to $800

_
Sony has just unveiled its new Xperia XZ and Xperia X Compact smartphones at IFA in Berlin, and already, consumers based in the UK can secure themselves a unit courtesy of Amazon. In addition, Twitter leakster @Ricciolo1 suggests that pre-orders in Europe for both devices will commence from 12th September, with the X Compact to retail on the 24th. He also adds that the Xperia XZ won't actually begin shipping in Europe until 17th October, which is around seven weeks from now.

The Sony Xperia X Compact is up for £379.99 ($500) on Amazon UK in Mist Blue, Universe Black and also White. The listing says the handset will drop in four weeks' time on the 28th. Likewise, the Sony Xperia XZ is up for pre-order in a choice of Forest Blue, Mineral Black or Platinum for a cool £599.99 ($800). No time frame is given on the release, however, and if Ricciolo's Twitter musings are to be heeded, UK customers might also be waiting until the second half of October to retrieve their purchase:

Eight hundred bucks for Xperia XZ! Woah, it's like Sony is trying to fail. Wish them luck in sales at such a price.

It's the European price you idiot. Like every other phone price in Europe is much higher than most of the world. I bet they will sell $600-$700 in US.

still only a moron would buy this over a Oneplus 3 or an Axon 7 , not even over an honor 8 , these companies are living in 2007 and still think its the age of one company to rule them all ...

We all know the pricing is for Europe. It'll be way lower in the US market. Even here in Asia is different. Still, I'll wait for 2-3 months to buy it cause it'll go down around $200. Planning to buy th xz.

That's the same as the Z3 and Z5 here in Europe.

Those are a bit pricey, especially the X Compact. That thing should've possibly had the 625 with 4K/1080P @ 60fps recording, and better battery. Price it around $400

I bought my z3 compact before for $550. Considering inflation, this is cheaper but reviews will do the talk if x compact price is justified.

So its okay to pay such price for Note 7 or S7 Edge and its not okay for XZ? Its kinda normal price for trustworthy company flagship.

I have to wait for reviews before justifying x compact's price. I am really intrigued with their 5-axis camera system if it will work.
