New HTC Bolt photos reveal a metal design, no 3.5mm audio jack in sight
Not long after announcing the HTC Desire 10 Pro and Desire 10 Lifestyle, HTC is now almost ready to unveil another mid-range smartphone: the HTC Bolt (codenamed Acadia). We've already seen a render of the HTC Bolt, and, today, thanks to Venture Beat, we can take a look at some new photos showing the handset in the wild.

The HTC Bolt kind of looks like the HTC 10 flagship, thanks to an all-metal design and a fingerprint scanner found on the front. However, the Bolt is slightly larger than the HTC 10, as it sports a 5.5-inch 1080p display. Another important thing to note is that the HTC Bolt does not have a 3.5mm headset jack, likely becoming HTC's first modern handset to ditch the widely used audio port. You'll have to get a pair of USB Type-C headsets to listen to music on the Bolt. With the Motorola Moto Z and the Apple iPhone 7 also coming without standard 3.5mm jacks this year, this may quickly become a trend in the smartphone world.

The HTC Bolt should run Android Nougat with Sense 8.0 UI, further featuring 3 GB of RAM, 64 GB of expandable storage space, and HTC BoomSound (though this will seemingly work only with headphones). There is no word on what processor is powering the new phone.

It's said that the HTC Bolt will be released later this month in the US (via Sprint), as well as in many markets across the globe. Pricing details are currently missing.

Do you think you'll be interested in buying HTC's first modern phone to lack a 3.5mm audio jack?
