NVIDIA announces SHIELD tablet and portable console Black Friday bundles

NVIDIA would like you to know that its Black Friday bundles will go live on November 28. From 12:01am PST to 11:59pm PST only, you'll be able to get the 32GB SHIELD tablet with LTE connectivity, bundled with free SHIELD controller, the Green Box by Valve, and NVIDIA's GRID game streaming service for a fair $399. The Green Box features Half-Life 2, H-L 2: Episode 1, and Portal - everything running natively on the Tegra K1-powered SHIELD tablet.

If you opt for the SHIELD portable console, you'll receive a free carrying case, glossy black armor case, and NVIDIA GRID for $199.

Both devices are priced at their retail values, but feature a decent amount of bundled goodies. If you take mobile gaming seriously, you can't go much farther than the NVIDIA SHIELD devices. And if you're looking for some more Black Friday deals, check out our deal round-up.

iPad Air 2 is the most powerful mobile device in terms of GPU and CPU performance. Then why should I ever consider this? Plus apple has implemented the metal API which takes it miles ahead of these devices.

Damn it. Didn't think about the Surface 3. The Razer Edge tablet is pretty beefy too. iPad Air 2? B*tch please.

No one is going to pay that much for a surface tablet. His iPad comment was right.

He did say mobile device though and surface tablet is one of them. Regardless how expensive it might be. If he would have said iPad Air 2 is one of the most powerful mobile devices, then there won't be any argument.

Why buy this? Because I want to play my PC games streaming over the network. Can't do it on iOS. Fart.

Eh, if you are going to buy the shield tablet, just get a Vita or 3DS instead. Much bigger library of games, with tons of unique ones you can`t find anywhere else

if you really want games no doubt dedicated handheld like 3ds and vita are going to be better in that regard because that is what they really made for. but even if you don't intend to do gaming Shield tablet still can act like regular tablet and it is one of the best out there in regards of price vs performance metric. btw nvidia make stuff like shield portable/tablet to encourage developer making better games on android ecosystem and not just the casual games we always played on our smartphone and tablet although it is not easy to do because android itself was crowded with freemium games. and most likely many people don't want to spend around 20-40 for a single games on their android device event if the said games have true console quality content.
