Motorola Moto G2 to be launched on September 10?
Motorola’s Moto G is currently one of the best smartphones that you can buy for less than $200. As we told you not long ago, a successor to it might be officially unveiled pretty soon.

According to GSM Arena, the next-gen Moto G - possibly called Moto G2, or Moto G+1 - should be available to buy on September 10. Reportedly, some retailers may receive the new handset as soon as late August, but it’s not clear if they will be allowed to sell it before September 10. It’s said that the Moto G2 should cost around €250 in Europe - which means that it might be sold for around $250 in the US.

The Moto G2 allegedly sports a 5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels, thus being larger than the original Moto G (which offers a 4.5-inch screen). Other rumored features include an 8 MP rear camera, a 2 MP camera on the front, quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1 GB of RAM, and 8 GB of internal memory (though we assume that a 16 GB variant will also exist).

Another new smartphone that Motorola is expected to release in the near future is the successor to the Moto X, allegedly called Moto X+1. Motorola might be planning to announce the two new handsets at the same time - although that’s pure speculation. Whatever happens, we’ll be here to let you know.

I'm really fed up with OEMs increasing their screen sizes all the time. 4.5" was perfect, why do you have to mess with it Motorola? The G2 is going to be a fail...

ntng innovative. it should have atlest 1080 p display just like xiams mi3 plus snapdragon 600 or 800 +8mp camera with better optics otherwise there is a no reason to buy moto g2

There is no reason to put a 1080p display on a midrange phone. 720p on 5.5" note 2 looked good, so an ips 720p panel on 5" wont look bad either. Snapdragon 600 is discontinued. The only problem i feel is 1 gb ram. It should be 1.5 to make this a great offering. As for xiaomi and other chinese crap, sure it comes dirt cheap but expect them to last a year, not more than that. At least a moto g would be working fine even after 2 3 years.. I have a v3 as my backup phone and it still runs great and its about 8 years old now.

My love? An iPhone? Lolol thats funny. You know what else is funny? Homeshopping selling One plus one in Pakistan and you don't need an invite. Next. Yes i have used Mi3. Not really that great. It overheats. The UI is good in terms of design but i would prefer Huawei's emotion UI and Oppo's Color OS (which was on the 1+1 unit i tested), but still those phones are all crap. You know why? Simple. I haven't seen one Chinese droid survive gracefully for 3 years. Then those locked chinese bootloaders. She-eet. MiUI has just touched kitkat when L is about to be released. So yeah, you lil piece of doodoo, try to be polite when interrupting elders.

But why the same SOC? They should implement the 64-bit Snap 410 atleast.

They should reserve the SD410 for the Moto E2 to stay ahead in the competition.

Since Moto's implementing the SD801 in Moto X+1, It would be great if they fit the SD610 in Moto G2. Sampling for the SD610 is already underway and we'll se it soon in devices in Q4 2014.

why not the SD410 instead. Considering the 410 is already available for sampling. I don't think the 610 is available yet.

I was wondering the same thing... A year old high end processor is good enogh for current gen mid tier phones..

i Think because it's Price that might too expensive for Mid range Phone.... and between the SD400 and SD600 may have the same architecture of KRAIT. and i think the Only different is the GPU. so i think that's why OEM doesn't like to use SD600 for Mid range Phone.. CMIIW

Snapdragon 600 has been discontinued by Qualcomm.

Qualcomm hasn't discontinued development on the 600 series. They have introduced 3 new models of 600. The 602A, 610, and 615. The 610 and 615 will have 64 bit versions. I think the 410 should be used instead because the original Moto G used the 400.

I'm hoping they don't go with a 5" screen. Looking for a high end 4.5" phone.
