Motorola Camera and Gallery apps get updated in the Google Play Store
In the Google Play Store, a couple of Motorola's system apps received an update on Thursday. Motorola Camera and Motorola Gallery were updated for the Motorola Moto X, Motorola Moto G and Motorola DROID branded handsets. And this illustrates the beauty of what Motorola and HTC are doing by posting some of their system apps on the Google Play Store. In the old days, updates to the camera and gallery apps would have meant waiting for a firmware update. That, in turn, would have meant delays for carrier testing.
Now, updating Motorola's Camera and Gallery apps is as easy as installing an update to any app that lives in the Google Play Store. The Motorola Camera app has added 3-second and 10-second options for the timer. Additionally, a double flick of the wrist will now also handle switching between the back and front-facing cameras.
The Motorola Gallery app has been updated to add the Material Design look, and the performance of the app has been improved. If you own any of the aforementioned Motorola phones, go ahead to the Google Play Store and update the apps all by yourself. It's a liberating feeling, isn't it?
