Ming-Chi Kuo: Apple to launch three new iPad Pro tablets in 2017, radically changed iPad in 2018

Renowned KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo issued a new research note, hinting towards the launch of three new Apple iPad tablets next year. According to his connections, Apple is preparing a second-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2, a 10.5-inch iPad Pro, and an entry-level 9.7-inch iPad Pro. Kuo expects Apple will deploy a new A10X processor in the 12.9-inch and 10.5-inch versions, along with the current iPad Pro's A9X chipset for the 9.7-inch tablet. The latter could be the same iPad Pro (9.7-inch) we already have, but at a reduced price.

Looking further ahead, the analyst expects a much different iPad in 2018, one that features a flexible AMOLED display, a new form factor, and "user behavior changes." It will probably be modeled after the 2018 iPhone, which is also speculated to have radical design and functionality changes.

Although Kuo predicts a continued decline in iPad shipments, he believes the 10.5-inch iPad Pro could strike a chord with users looking for a balance between portability and functionality. It offers more screen real estate than the 9.7-inch model, but remains relatively portable unlike the larger 12.9-inch iPad Pro, which might be slim and refined, but still has the footprint of a laptop.

We'll see what Apple has in store for the tablet that started it all next year.

Hmmm, more SKUs of basically the same product and all of them are "pro". So they're following the proven path of failure designed by HTC and Samsung of old.

2018 iPad sounds very interesting. Flexibile Oled display for ipad is indeed a very curious thing. It looks like we will see some major changes both in the smartphone and tablet world at the end of 2017 and first half of 2018. Can't wait.

Yes, you mean Samsung's Flexible AMOLED. The same Samsung which you so much hate. Yet, you can't wait to enjoy Samsung's display in an Apple device. Wow...

No, I didn't mean Samsung's Flexible Oled. Samsung is not the only company who is investing in the flexible oled display business, moron. By the end 2017 LG will start producing their flexible display and JDI will start their production at the beginning of 2018. Apple will use their display as well. It is always a good idea to expand your horizon sammy idiots. You sure love to call other people hater but you should also know your identity as well that is - "A brainwashed blind Samsheep".

In simple words, APPLE WILL USE 2-3 YEARS OLDER AMOLED PANELS. Non of the OEM can dare to compete with SAMSUNG current generation (even a year old ) AMOLED panels... Your story is TOO BAD bro....

" by end of 2017 LG will start producing their flexible display" - LMAO, talked like a fortune teller when even LG themselves don't know if that's gonna happen. LG can talk cock and don't even know what they are doing. LG: " The G5 is so revolutionary that it will left other competitors wonder why haven't they think of this for their phones- modular phone = huge fail" " Apple will use their display as well" How do you know? The last time I checked, it's 2016, and the Brazil team is winning in volley ball in Rio Olympics games. Tell me who will win Euro next please?

Put Samsung OLED display in their products which Samsung spent billions and billions in R&D - Apple is revolutionary!

Even with a Samsung display, the iPad will be a useless piece of crap. Are they going to include Force Touch on it this time? is so, how much you bet they raise the price again.

I'll believe it when I see it. Everything we've seen from Apple recently has been regurgitated old products.

I thought Apple's idea of radical design change is just introducing new color.

I wish I could sell my iPad Pro 9.7. It is utterly useless. My wife doesn't even pick up the iPad after getting her Surface Pro 4, which I sold her old iPad Air 2 and my Galaxy Note Pro to get it, so we don't have so many tablets. She was telling me, don't get a new iPad because no one is going to really use it, because she has her SP4, the kid has the original iPad Mini and I have a Tab S. Sure enough, it just sits around. I grab it only when my Tab S is dying. Very disappointing, they increased the cost, but it doesn't do anything the iPad Air doesn't do other than support the pencil, which isn't worth buying. They didn't even add Force Touch to it, yet they increased the cost. The iPad is pathetic and if you have an iPhone (Plus) the iPad is useless. Its the same device only larger. The best thing Apple can do to the iPad right now is both the 9.7 and 12" model needs to find a way to add activing cooling, drop an Intel chip inside and run OSX. That is the only way it will actually be a "pro" tablet. For Tim Cook to have blast the SP$ saying, it is trying to hard to be a tablet and a PC and fails at both, yet they release something worse and try to attach and ugly ass keyboard to it; makes Tim Cook look like a total fool. They just mad because it actually is a good idea. Release a pencil, but don't even include it. How exactly is it worth $100? Yet the Surface and the Note tablets came with pen. How dare you release a tablet that you advertise with the pen, and its not even included. You would have to be a fool to go buy it. Apple has lost its way. They are done! The sooner they die in the mobile market, the better it will be. If they didn't waste time suing OEM's for BS, they could have worked on making better stuff, instead of making the same carp over an over.

Stop lying! As much as you stick your nosy ass nose into Apple related business, you'd have known how useless it was before buying it. You're the biggest anti Apple troll on PA, yet claim to have all these Apple products. This was just another whack ass attempt to dis Apple. GTFOH with that crap!

Wow. You said it. I'm on this sight now with my Air 2. Love it. Awesome device. This dude who hates Apple so bad bought the Pro? Now either he's lying or really quite stupid. I mean he is a IT consultant? He said you would have to be a fool to buy it. Ok. Now I under stand.

Think dude! He browses these sites constantly leaving 1000 word essays about his dislike for Apple, bought a Pro, felt it was utterly useless, but kept it past the window of return or exchange. He then got his imaginary wife a Surface 4, and the Pro is only used when his tab is low on battery. No selling it on eBay, Gazelle, Offer up, or Craigslist? It's the most popular line of tablets out there, it's utterly useless, kept past the return window, and no attempt to recoup some money? It took him a minimum of 14 days to deduce it as being useless...reallyyyyyyyyy. I call BS my dude, he's flat out lying!

I remember him saying that too, (that one would be a fool to buy it). I've personally caught him in either a few lies, or being really stupid. Now as an IT consultant, he can't be that stupid, so once again...he's flat out lying! My Air 2 is my most dependable Apple product, I love that thing.

Wow dude if you are gonna Troll, at least try and hide it a little. "the iPad Air doesn't do other than support the pencil, which isn't worth buying." Umm, just because you dont know how to use a stylus, doesn't mean other people dont. From reading some of your posts I get that "It's bad and doesn't work because I dont like it" vibe from you. Try harder next time.
