Microsoft Surface Go tablet officially starts shipping worldwide
It’s ironic, but Microsoft’s smallest and cheapest tablet yet may have a good shot at becoming the Redmond-based tech giant’s most popular Surface family member in quite some time, generating plenty of pre-release buzz since its formal announcement almost a month ago.
Up for pre-order in 21 global markets starting July 10, the Surface Go quickly added another half a dozen countries to that list, shipping from today across 25 of them, including the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Poland, Taiwan, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Malaysia.
In the coming weeks, you’ll also be able to purchase the 2-in-1 10-incher in Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and China, with pre-orders across Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain set to kick off on September 12, followed by India in early October.
Unfortunately, those of you who hesitated to be among the first to book the Surface Go stateside can no longer get the iPad “killer” with a $50 gift card bundled in at Best Buy. For what it’s worth, the retailer does still throw in a free 6-month subscription for both the Webroot Internet Security and Antivirus 2018 combo, and Trend Micro Internet Security.
Meanwhile, Amazon has the Microsoft Surface Go listed as “temporarily out of stock” at the time of this writing, although you can order the Windows 10 tablet/laptop hybrid today and have it delivered “when available.”
Obviously, there’s also the option to buy it straight from a Microsoft Store, either on or offline, with a 4GB RAM/64GB storage configuration fetching $399, and twice that digital hoarding room, as well as an extra 4 gigs of memory setting you back a grand total of $549. Finally, don’t forget about the Costco-exclusive 4/128GB variant, priced at the same $549 with a $99-worth Signature Type Cover included.
