Logitech Solar Keyboard Folio for the new iPad can last two years on a full charge
For those of you independent types that hate cables and long-term relationships, Logitech just outed its Solar Keyboard Folio for the new iPad, also working with the iPad 2. It serves as the tablet's case, cover, stand, Bluetooth keyboard, and a generic binder, as any self-respecting tablet folio does, but there's much more to it.
A solar-powered battery can be juiced by the sun or a lamp, indoor and out, for up to the astounding two years of happy typing on a full charge, based on 2 hours of action per day estimate, even in total darkness. Needless to say, the folio automatically wakes up the iPad when open, and locks it when closed.
To achieve the longevity, Logitech is using the power-sipping Bluetooth 3.0 standard, beaming keystrokes to the even more frugal Bluetooth 4.0 of the new iPad. Finally something interesting in the world of tablet accessories, which can be yours for $129.99 as we speak, if you hurry up and preorder on Logitech's site.
