Latest iPad 2 leak writes off high-res display and SD card slot
The folks at Engadget say they may have a clearer idea of what exactly we may see next Wednesday on the iPad 2 event in San Francisco. According to sources they claim to be highly reliable, a couple of anticipated features have been written off and possibly postponed for future versions of Apple's tablet. First of all, hopes for a higher-resolution display on the iPad 2 are fading away as the leak indicates it has been omitted due to “engineering issues.” Screen size is also highly-likely to remain identical to the one we are used to seeing on the original iPad. An SD card slot, as it has been expected, will not be found on the iPad 2 either, which leaves out any possibilities for storage expansion.

The good news is that under the hood things remain just as expected – a dual-core A5 processor will be the beating heart of Apple's new tablet, backed up by 512MB of RAM and an upgraded GPU. At least one camera will be added to the iPad 2, probably on the front for FaceTime conversations, but a second one on the back with HD video capture capabilities will not be a surprise either, although you may look silly waving your tablet around to take shots.

It is speculated that a preview of iOS 5.0 will be displayed at the event along with its SDK for developers. We are also expecting words about Apple's cloud services as they still tend to be a bit unclear. Hang in there for another five days, until we finally get enlightened.
