LG G Watch R launches globally, Google Play will be among the places to have it
Available in South Korea since last week, the LG G Watch R is now being rolled out globally, and it looks like Google Play is the place where you’ll be able to get it first (only in select markets - we assume the US is among them). Starting early November, the smartwatch will also be available at retail locations across Europe (UK, France, Germany, Italy, etc.), as well as in North America and Asia.

As we previously reported, the G Watch R will cost €299 in Europe, and (most likely) $299 in the US.

Running Android Wear, the LG G Watch R is the world’s first smartwatch to sport a completely round display: a 1.3-inch, P-OLED one with 320 x 320 pixels. Its body is dust- and water-resistant (IP57-certified), and is partially made out of stainless steel. The new wearable device comes pre-loaded with six watch faces, and LG says that you can pair it with any 22mm wide watch strap.

Like all other Android Wear smartwatches on the markets, the G Watch R is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, has 512 MB or RAM, and 4 GB of internal memory. Its battery is a bit larger, though, at 410 mAh.

Until we get the chance to review the G Watch R, check out our hands-on of it here. Do you plan to buy LG’s round smartwatch? Let us know in the comments!

At least the 360 had design for its high price. LG has nothing of the sort here

Unlike the moto360 this has a newer processor and a round face versus the flat black area

That's a nice looking watch. Definitely rivals the Moto 360 in that department.

50$ less than the unreleased Apple Watch...

$350 is what the Apple Watch will START at. That's the most basic model with the smallest size and the most basic band. If you want maybe the sport model (I'm guessing that will be the most popular one), it would cost you more because of Apple's high margins and different materials. If you want a different band, it will cost more money. If you want a bigger size, it will cost more money. The "Edition" model probably will be over a thousand bucks because it includes real gold and apple wants you to think it's premium even though it's just like the starting model except made of gold.

So this will come to Europe before the Moto360. Motorola must be extremely cash strapped.

Definitely seems like a much better overall package than the Moto 360, even at the $50 higher price tag...

Phonearena, could you guys do a battery endurance piece for smart watches? I will not buy any until they begin to have at least 3-4 days with heavy use. I dont mind a heavy watch.

Great watch. Too bad it comes with a crappy locked down OS.

I really like the Moto design over this one, I think that the giant bezels look really bulky.

You know a device is in its infancy when "watch faces" is used as a selling point.

I like this more than any SmartWatch ever released... Even more than Apple Watch... I want this - will it work with iOS?
