LG G Watch R launches globally, Google Play will be among the places to have it
Available in South Korea since last week, the LG G Watch R is now being rolled out globally, and it looks like Google Play is the place where you’ll be able to get it first (only in select markets - we assume the US is among them). Starting early November, the smartwatch will also be available at retail locations across Europe (UK, France, Germany, Italy, etc.), as well as in North America and Asia.

As we previously reported, the G Watch R will cost €299 in Europe, and (most likely) $299 in the US.

Running Android Wear, the LG G Watch R is the world’s first smartwatch to sport a completely round display: a 1.3-inch, P-OLED one with 320 x 320 pixels. Its body is dust- and water-resistant (IP57-certified), and is partially made out of stainless steel. The new wearable device comes pre-loaded with six watch faces, and LG says that you can pair it with any 22mm wide watch strap.

Like all other Android Wear smartwatches on the markets, the G Watch R is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, has 512 MB or RAM, and 4 GB of internal memory. Its battery is a bit larger, though, at 410 mAh.

Until we get the chance to review the G Watch R, check out our hands-on of it here. Do you plan to buy LG’s round smartwatch? Let us know in the comments!
