Japanese Windows 10 smartphone NuAns Neo teased in new video
We recently told you about the NuAns Neo – an intriguing Windows 10 smartphone from Japan with Continuum support and unique design. NuAns is now looking beyond the Japanese market and at a launch in other regions – a goal which the company will be trying to achieve via an upcoming Kickstarter campaign.

Meanwhile, a new video teasing the NuAns Neo has been released. It focuses mainly on the phone's design, showing it off in the hands of young people dressed in matching colors with the Neo's two-tone back covers. At the beginning of the video, you can also see the cool packaging the device and its accessories come in – wooden boxes sporting the same design footprint as the Neo itself.

The NuAns Neo is not the most powerful phone out there, but it could still find a dedicated user base if priced reasonably. It features a 720 x 1280 5-inch screen, 2GB of RAM, a 3,350 mAh battery, and it's powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 617 CPU clocked at 1.5Ghz.

Last year, the device was launched in Japan for around $380, although we don't know if that price means anything for the international release. More details will emerge soon, when the Kickstarter campaign begins.

Looked good until I saw it was the size of a laptop. I wish more companies would focus on phone-sized phones except for Apple and Sony... There's a huge market for sub-5" phones being neglected I feel.

I was staying away from big-screen phones for a long time, but eventually I succumbed and now I love my Nexus 6P. There is nothing wrong with big phones. Getting used to those comes natural. As for manufacturers reasoning: it is easier to put better hardware on bigger phones.

I know what you mean, I just like to keep my phone in my pocket, type one-handed etc. I've always found phablets too awkward to do that. I think the markets are there for both but there are plenty of good options at the larger end of the spectrum while the other end has a bit of a gap - I still know quite a few people using iPhone 4's and 5's because of it!

Any plan to buy an iPhone SE? Apple has already release a smaller size phone, let hope their sales numbers justify them to continue this trend.

The design is out of box thinking. looking fresh and good, it could have much thinner tho!!

Couldn't agree more, it's definitely an interesting take on smartphone aesthetics. The only real issue is that it's too chunky.

Good. I liked that phone from the start. I hope it makes it out of Jpapn. I like the big battery on it!

Look nice but too bulky with lousy spec. From few video I seen, the screen quality is not great also.

Interesting take on the backplates / customizability. Neat feature. My only two beefs with the phone are the somewhat lousy specs for the price and no support for Android. After hearing all the hot goss about how Windows store has gotten worse even in 1st party app selection, the OS seems less and less appealing for me. Maybe I'm just wrong - can someone let me know the situation with Windows 10 Mobile from their own experiece?

I have no doubts that NuAns will make a thinner version of their smart phone. i hope they sell enough of them to inspire them to make a thinner version. Hopefully Microsoft will make a Massive effort to get the Windows 10 Operating system more stable than it is right now. Microsoft needs it working great because the Full Windows 10 OS that is on 300 million Computers of various types is a growing Juggernaut that wont go away and Windows 10 mobile smart phones are the BEST smart phones to integrate and use with the Full Windows 10 Eco system because both Windows 10 mobile devices and Full Windows 10 OS Computers use Microsoft's "Universal" Apps that cause them to work as one. This is one of the great growing reasons to use a Windows smart phones Android and Apple Iphones apps are not compatible with the full Windows 10 OS Computers which will be the Dominant Business ENTERPRISE OS WORLD WIDE !!
