Is this the white Nexus 4?

Back in November, we had heard a rumor that there was a white Nexus 4 in the works, and that it was planned for release in December (possibly bundled with the Nexus 7), but that never happened. We never saw any pictures of the rumored smartphone, but an anonymous source just sent us what could be the fabled white Nexus 4.

According to the EXIF data on the image, the picture was taken with an LG Optimus G last week. This may mean the image is coming from someone within LG, or it may not mean anything. It certainly looks like a white Nexus 4, and you can even see the reflective pattern on the bottom right that was a distinctive feature of the black Nexus 4.

We ran the image through FotoForensics, and it doesn't seem to be photoshopped, so it could be the real thing. Of course, this would only confirm the existence of the white Nexus 4. We still would have no idea when the device is planned for release.

no point ....will b out of stock from d very first day it gets released at playstore ...not worth buying it with contract too !!

The only thing we can say for certain from this article is that this story, combined with the fact that this is apparently both "EXCLUSIVE" and "FEATURED" points to this: January 29, 2013 is a very slow news day. I'll put this hypothesis through a few more super extensive tests, but I don't expect the outcome to change. Of course, I can only confirm these results through 12:54 PM CST. I still have no idea when the news should pick up again (probably around RIM's keynote tomorrow.)

Oh, you're right! Any day with a "Nexus 4 back in stock!" article (i.e. every day for the last 2 months) can hardly be classified as slow! Who wouldn't want to know when a phone launched last year with last-year's specs is in stock?

Droid DNA is probably the closest you'll get, 200 subsidized through verizon (cheaper elsewhere[wirefly, amazon, etc.]. But then again, it IS sense...

Given that we've never seen the white Nexus 4, and there's no way to confirm the picture as real, it seems reasonable to question.

It's a featured story mostly because we were the first to publish the story and the picture. Check around the web, the story has already been picked up by a number of other sites, but you saw it here first.

cause out of the playstore the phone costs the same as a gs3.... and with 16gb of internal and no sd I don't know any1 who would buy it....

I don't know. Where I live I've NEVER seen anyone with a sony phone. They don't market as well as Samsung and Apple, and to be honest before joining this site... I thought sony "xperia" phones were those PSP phones. Sony really has to pump some money in their marketing branch.
