Instagram introduces Hyperlapse video app that produces time-lapse photography

Did you ever watch a stadium fill up using time-lapse photography and think it would be cool to shoot your own videos like that? Now you can. Instagram has launched its Hyperlapse app, that allows users to create high-quality time-lapse videos. Built in image stabilization means that the video comes out looking as though you had used a tripod to keep it steady. This allows you to film the time-lapse sequence even if you're on the move. Unlike Apple's own time-lapse feature that should be introduced on iOS 8, Instagram's Hyperlapse includes an option to control the playback speed of the video from 1x to 12x.

No account is required to sign in, and creating a time-lapse video requires nothing more than a single tap to capture video. Afterwards, you can upload your video to Facebook and Instagram, or save it to the camera roll on your device..

Instagram Hyperlapse is a free download, and is available for iOS devices only, from the Apple App Store. No word yet from Instagram about versions of the app for Android or Windows Phone.
