NFC enabled phones and QR codes allow for easy check-in
India is one of those places where the BlackBerry name means something and
still has some value to it. The SkyPark Cafe in Hyderabad, India is the first BlackBerry equipped cafe in the country. The customers use
BlackBerry PlayBooks, and music can be played juke-box style using one PlayBook dedicated to be used with the BlackBerry Music Gateway. Not only will customers be allowed to surf the web with the tablets, they also double as the establishment's menu and waiters will use them to take orders.
The cafe's walls will be lined with NFC stickers so that those with NFC enabled devices can more easily check in.QR codes can be scanned for patrons to receive free items and there will be a free app available each month. The SkyPark cafe is the result of partnership between RIM and Indian BlackBerry site BBin. Oh yeah, did we mention the free Wi-Fi?
