Google Nexus 5X goes on sale today

Starting today, you can buy the Nexus 5X at the Google Store, as well as at select carriers and stores in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, India, Korea, and Japan.

The 5.2-inch Nexus 5X comes as the successor to the popular Nexus 5. It brings a much needed upgrade with the Snapdragon 808 under the hood, but also a big bump in cameras with a new, 12-megapixel sensor that shows promising performance in low light, as well as day light. The 5X also features the new USB-C port and the extremely fast Nexus Imprint fingerprint scanner.

All of this comes together to present us with the best Android so far, Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Prices for the Nexus 5X in the United States are set at the quite affordable:

  • 16GB model - $380
  • 32GB model - $430
In Europe and other parts of the world, though, prices are much higher.

LG has officially said it plans to bring the Nexus 5X to more markets in Europe, Asia, and Latin America "in the weeks to come."

Battery seems disappointing.

I'm waiting for Anandtech's review and real world usage PA's test shows the 5X on par with the 6P, G4 and M9, but worse than the S6 and 6S Ars' web browsing test shows the 5X is better than the S6, but worse than the 6P, G4 and 6S Ars' WebGL (more intensive) test shows the 5X is better than the G4, but worse than the S6, 6P and 6S I think I'm skipping this cycle I'll wait for next year's flagships, Android N, iOS 10 and Windows 10 Mobile

I just want the new Lumias, MS killed it with them but the price outside of the US is ridiculous. I have a feeling the Snapdragon is whats causing battery inconsistencies between the review sites. Who know what the heat dispersion does between different tasks and such. But it's ridiculous how the 6S has a 17xx battery whole the 5X has a 27xx one and yet still doesn't last as well despite running the 808 and and Android M. A 1080p vs 750p screen can't cause such a huge difference.

It is so expensive in the Netherlands. The 16GB version is as expensive as a G4 or S6. Th 32 GB version is even more expensive. So yeah, that is pretty bad.

What stores in the US will be carrying the 5X (and 6P)? I haven't come across any yet, and I'd like an actual hands-on before I buy anything.

Piece of crap in Europe when compared to much cheaper LG G4 and same priced S6 edge. Honestly this phone is value for money ONLY AND ONLY in USA.

And even then, it falls apart next to the more value-packed and only slightly larger Moto X Pure/Style. Now, if they were to double the storage capacities, maybe they'd have something.

I concur. I would totally spend the extra $20 on the Pure over getting the Nexus. Larger screen, higher rez, front flash camera and customizeable.
